Gerald Foreman, 77, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:56 AM on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Foreman was born November 11, 1935 in Indian Bayou, LA and was a 1956 graduate of LaGrange High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army for six years. He lived in California for seven years before returning to Lake Charles in 1976. Mr. Foreman worked as the store manager of White's Home and Auto and also worked at Brame's Hardware and Sears. He enjoyed watching football and was an avid Saints fan and will always be remembered as a hard worker. He was also a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Foreman is survived by his daughters, Melissa Sonnier and April Blanchard; brother, John A. Foreman; sisters, Judy Detwiler and Billie Fults and husband Gus Fults, Jr.; grandchildren, Lori Sonnier, all of Lake Charles and Cody Sonnier and wife Sybil of Westlake; great grandchildren, Joseph Jameson and Emma Sonnier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-four years, Saya Haru Foreman; son, James Foreman; parents, John and Doveda Foreman; and siblings, Loraine LeDoux, Barbara Tringali, Shelby Benoit, and Betty Pugh.
His funeral service will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate. His ashes will be interred at Consolata Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
