Gerald Martin Olson

Gerald Martin Olson, 76, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 in the comfort of his home.

Mr. Olson was born and raised in Minnesota. He has lived thirty years in Lake Charles. He retired Master Sergeant with twenty-six years of service in the Military. Ten years for the United States Navy and sixteen years with the United States Air Force, all of which he studied Air Craft Mechanics. Mr. Olson also retired Air Craft Inspector following twenty years of service with Northrup Grumman. Mr. Olson enjoyed reading and fishing and more than anything loved animals, particularly dogs and ferrets.

He leaves to honor his memory, two daughters, Shannon Olson Castro and husband Gonzalo, Jr. of Austin, TX and Meredith Olson Tancredi of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Christopher Olson of Las Vegas, NV and one brother, Gene Olson of Lake Charles.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Martin “Marty” Olson, Jr.; wife, Jan Olson; parents, Runey and Geraldine Olson and a brother, Richard Olson.

Services will be a private family gathering.
