Geraldene "Gerry" Lambert

December 8, 1921 — September 16, 2018

Geraldene E. Lambert, 96, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Brandon, MS surrounded by her loving family. Geraldene, “Gerry”, was born on December 8, 1921 in Electra, TX to Roy Carroll and Ethel King Elliston.

 

Geraldene graduated from Seagraves High School and attended Cosmetology school. She worked as a beautician for two years before she married Charles Louis Lambert, Jr. of Quanah, TX on April 25, 1941. They were married for 55 years. They lived in San Antonio, TX, Alexandria, LA and Lake Charles, LA. She was a member of Boulevard Church of Christ for 59 years before moving to Brandon, MS in 2010 where she was a member of Lake Harbor Drive Church of Christ.

 

Gerry was a homemaker and also worked for several years at Pel’s Fabric Store. She was an excellent seamstress and made most of her daughter’s clothes.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a great-granddaughter and a brother.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, Myrion (William) Underwood, Wayne (Emmadean) Lambert, and Danny (Donna) Lambert. She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 9-10:30AM. A graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens at 11AM officiated by her grandson, Russell Wayne Lambert.

 

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 2451 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22202.
