Gerard Ledet

Gerard Ledet, 61, of Lafayette departed from this life at 5:53 PM on Monday, July 24, 2017 in his residence.

Mr. Ledet was born on December 18, 1955 in Lake Charles to Clamonce and Kelly Ledet, Sr. He attended Mossville Elementary School and graduated from Sulphur High School. Mr. Ledet worked as Chief Engineer on various cruise lines which allowed him to travel the world and make friends everywhere. He was President of the Zodiac Motorcycle Club. Mr. Ledet attended St. John Bosco Catholic Church where he was an altar server.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Bertrand Ledet; his siblings, Barbara Nero (Kermit), Jo Ann Cooks (John), Kelly Ledet, Jr. (Agnes), Nathaniel Ledet (Jackie), Priscilla Ledet (Bill), Cynthia Clay (Alan), John M. Ledet (Sarah), and Sylvia Goody (Oscar); Godchildren, Sharhonda Ledet, Jason Ledet, and Jahnricka Ledet; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives as well as sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clamonce and Kelly Ledet, Sr.; siblings, Lois Rideau, Eddie Ledet, Kathleena Boutte, Rebecca Ledet, and Phillip Ledet.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the House of Prayer, 920 Harrison St., Westlake, LA 70669. Pastor Nathaniel Ledet will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
