Gertie Mae Trahan Pevoto, 94 of Carlyss passed away on July 17, 2012 in her residence. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 celebrated by Rev. Joe Aquino at 11a.m. in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, LA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, LA with a rosary being said at 6 p.m. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. Gertie was a native of Johnson Bayou in Cameron Parish and a graduate of St. Charles Academy in Lake Charles. She was a resident of Carlyss, a homemaker and a member of St. Theresa Catholic community. Gertie is survived by her daughters, Elaine Heape of Lake Charles, Gertrude Robinson and husband, Buddy of Ville Platte, and Fay Barton and husband, Wes of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Cathy LeDoux Kear, Gayle LeDoux Snell, Joan LeDoux Chesson, Alan LeDoux, Rowdy Robinson, Debbie Robinson Toman, and Diane Robinson Fontenot; 16 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.E. Pevey Pevoto; father, Ellie Trahan; mother, Lettie Mae Rutherford; and brothers, Alvie and Ernie O. Trahan.
