Gilmer James Duhon

Mr. Gilmer James Duhon, 79, of Sulphur passed away at 12:49 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in local hospital.

Mr. Duhon was a native of Lake Charles and lived in the Lake Charles-Sulphur area all his life. He was the owner/operator of Duhon’s Muffler Repair. He enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, camping, building fires, and gambling with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Fay Duhon of Sulphur, La; Son, Merrick Todd Duhon of Lafayette, LA; grandson Matthew Shane Duhon and wife Lauren, of Church Point, LA and two great grandsons, Maverick and Ridge Duhon; one sister, Del Guillory and husband Herman of Lafayette, LA; and one brother, Rodney Duhon and wife Mary of Lake Charles, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gilmer was preceded on death my his loving parents Mr and Mrs Jessie James Duhon and his sister Jessie Dean Regan Kounter. He was loved by all who knew him, but especially by all of his nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Friends a family will begin at 9:00 AM with a rosary being recited at 10:30 AM. Cannon Moreau will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
