Gina Andrus Miller, 54, of Iowa, LA, died at 8:45 PM on Thursday, January 1, 2015 in her residence. Gina was a devoted mother, daughter, and grandmother to her two grandsons who affectionately referred to her as "GG". She had an intense love for all children that was both evident and exceptional. She loved spending time with her family, and they had just enjoyed meaningful times together during the holidays. She attended LaGrange Senior High School in the mid-70's, and then later obtained her GED. She held a strong faith in God and attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Her strong work ethic led her to pursue a variety of working experiences, including managing apartment complexes for a number of years. She also partnered in a catering business due to her interest in cooking and baking and her appetite for good Cajun cuisine. One of her specialties was pumpkin rolls which she and her family enjoyed this Christmas. Being an avid lover of the outdoors, Gina loved gardening, camping, fishing, crabbing and following the sport of Rodeo. She and her beloved "Jaybird" made several trips to the National Finals Rodeo. Gina was known and loved by many and her beautiful contagious smile and loving, caring heart will be deeply missed by all. Gina was preceded in death by her husband Jay Miller. She is survived by daughter, Devaney Benton and husband Todd of Moss Bluff; parents, Leonard and Rita Andrus of Lake Charles; brother, Craig Andrus of Lake Charles; sister, Sherry Andrus of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Quentin Miller Benton and Daven Benton; nieces and nephews, Monica Hebert, Michael Hebert, and Kelsey Andrus; and numerous other family members and friends that she loved dearly. Her memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary at 2:00 PM.
