Gladys D. Breaux, born on November 26, 1946, in Lake Charles, LA, has died and has been called to her eternal home on February 11, 2025. She passed away at High Hope Care Center located at 475 High Hope Rd, Sulphur, LA.
She was a steadfast member of First Pentecostal Church of Sulphur for over 50 years. Her devotion to God was undeniable, and her dedication to her church was paramount; she had never missed a service in her lifetime. She did custodial work for the majority of her life, with the bulk of those years working as the custodian at W.T. Henning Elementary School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and pet owner who put others before herself no matter the circumstance. She was a simple woman who loved God, her family, and her cats. Her constant disquiet for the well-being of others made her a mother to us all. Her faith was perpetually tested, but no matter the struggles of life, she overcame every obstacle and endured. She was a resilient fighter to the very end and is dearly loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Gladys was preceded in death by her mother, Dorathy Duhon; her father, Clyde Duhon; her sister, Grace Duhon; and her daughter, April Bello. She is survived by her son, Dale S. Breaux; her two grandchildren, Dale J. Breaux and Larissa N. Breaux; and her close cousin, Sharon L. Potier.
Gladys Breaux's life will be celebrated on February 13, 2025, at First Pentecostal Church. The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m., and a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
