Gladys Marceaux Johnson, 90, of Lake Charles, LA died Saturday, March 8, 2014 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. Gladys was born December 19, 1923 in Kaplan, LA to Arvene and Edna Marceaux. She was a graduate of Gueydan High School. She worked at Muller's Department Store and retired from Calcasieu Marine National Bank. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 2130. She enjoyed camping, dancing, playing cards, and traveling. She is survived by four children, Linda Lucy Ledoux of Lake Charles, Sharon Plaisance of Lake Charles, Darrell Plaisance and wife Yvonne of Topsy, Ann Perry and husband Mike of Waller, TX; twelve grandchildren, Tina Snider, Tammy Fusilier, Greg and Troy Douvio, Kim Ledoux, Kent and Sommer Holland, Chancey and Carey Plaisance, Casey Faulk, Bette Salcedo, and Blake Perry; fifteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; one brother, John Bert Marceaux and wife Rose of Houma, LA; and one sister, Audrey Marceaux of Tampa, FL; and her loving dog " Sweetie". She is preceded in death by her parents, Arvene and Edna Marceaux, Jr., loving husband Rufus Johnson of 27 years, and great grandson, Bryce Plaisance. Pallbearers include Greg and Colby Douvio, Chancey, Carey, Taylor and Quentin Plaisance, Kent and Dylan Holland and Adam Snider. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Catholic Daughters organization, St. Margaret Catholic Church of Lake Charles, LA. A special thanks to Dr. Craig V. Broussard, Ms. Lorena Randal, Paula Jackson and her team. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at St Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday, March 10, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume at 8:30 AM Tuesday until 10:30 AM. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Fr. Jeff Starkovich will officiate services.
