Glen Roya

November 19, 1943 — March 21, 2012

Glen Ray Roya, 68, of Lake Charles passed away, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in his daughter's residence.


He was born in Big Lake and lived most of his life in the Lafayette and Lake Charles areas. Glen was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of McNeese State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked as an Engineer for Schlumberger for thirty-three years before retiring. Glen was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time at Toledo Bend Lake, recently making it his retirement home. He loved spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.


He is survived by his son Eddie Roya and wife Kristi of San Antonio, TX and his daughter Debbie Huval of Lake Charles; four grandchildren Katelyn and Courtney Huval, and Brianne and Jed Roya; two sisters Donna Pearson and Lorna Schindler and husband Warren; two godchildren, Sara Richard and Corie Clopton. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-three years Rosemary Ann St. George Roya.; his parents Edval "Joe" Roya and Hazel Mae Roya; two sisters Lee Ella Landry and Joyce Scarborough-Overton and infant brother Allen Lynn Roya.


His funeral will be will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday at 8:00 AM until the time of services.
