Glenda F. Richard Courville, 60, of LeBleu Settlement passed away at 2:50 PM, Thursday, July 31, 2014 in a local hospital. She was born in Church Point, LA and has been a lifetime resident of the Iowa area. Glenda worked many years at the Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Department and recently worked for the City of Lake Charles. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LeBleu Settlement. She was an avid gardener and loved being with her family especially playing with her grandson. Survivors include her husband, Bryan Courville; two daughters, Shanna and Lauren Courville; one grandson, Gaven Courville and one granddaughter almost here, Jaycee Courville; her father and stepmother, Essie J. and Bessie Richard; sister, Connie Wieschhaus and husband Steve and niece, Rachel; father and mother-in-law, John and Catherine Courville; stepbrothers, Nolan Guillot and wife Frieda and Jimmy Guillot and wife Roxanne. She is preceded in death by her mother, Beverlyn Thibodeaux Richard. Her Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 4, 2014, in St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa. Fr. Bennie Wego will officiate. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, LA. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Sunday with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30 PM and continue from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, Monday, in the funeral home. The family would like to thank the Staff of the ICU Unit at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital and Drs. Ben Thompson and Ronald Lewis for the care given to Glenda. In lieu of flowers the family request donations are made to help with funeral expenses.
