Gloria Ann Sens

Gloria Ann Sens, 83, of Lake Charles, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024.  Gloria was born January 30, 1941, in New Orleans, LA. to George and Evelyn Miestchovich.

At the age of four, she discovered her love of dance and ballet. It gave her so much joy, she pursued her passion by studying the art of ballet every waking moment from then on, eventually teaching other aspiring ballerinas.

Deciding to pursue her dreams she moved, by herself, to New York City to study with some of the greatest ballet masters known. She chased her dreams all the way to Radio City Music Hall where she danced in the ballet corp.

She then married her love and started a family. She supported everyone by helping run the family business and being a part of her church, eventually becoming a church elder. But her favorite was being an amazing grandmother and imparting little joys and wisdoms upon her grandchildren.

Her loves were her family, sewing, and walks in the evening where she would enjoy the peace and beauty of sunsets (her favorite time of day) at the family farm.

She loved roses and sunsets that were bright and colorful, just like her life.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years; Larry Sens, son; Eric Sens and wife Lynne, daughter; Diana Lyn Abshire, grandchildren; Blaize Abshire, Chase Abshire, Sean Sens, Michael Sens, sister; Gaylyn Ann Miestchovich.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, Marcelle Ann Sens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605, with a memorial service to begin at 2:00PM.  Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie, LA.  The family has entrusted cremation arrangements to Johnson Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bible Study Fellowship, Sale Street Baptist Church Lake Charles chapter at https://join.bsfinternational.org/class/456.
