Glyn Lamar Hayes

December 27, 1922 — April 27, 2011

Glyn Lamar Hayes, 88, of Lake Charles passed away, Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 7:30 AM in his residence.


Mr. Hayes was a native of Marthaville, LA and lived in Lake Charles for the past fifty-three years. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy serving in World War II. Mr. Hayes retired from National Cash Register Company after forty-two years of service. He was a longtime member of the Lake Charles Bible Church and served as a Deacon for many years.


Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Melba Forsythe Hayes; two sons, Lamar Hayes and wife Judy of Longville and Randy Hayes and wife Jackie of Lake Charles; two daughters, Kaki Hayes Brown and husband Paul of Whitsett, NC, and Dinah Hayes Courville of Grand Lake; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren: one sister, Rose Causey and nieces and nephews.


His funeral will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Phil Carpenter will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Friday, and from 9:00 AM until time of services, Saturday, in the funeral home.


Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Brandon Hymel, Corey Hayes, Chad Evans, Sean Wood, and Chris and Craig Brown, along with friends Bobby Herman and Doug Williams.
