Glynn Thomas Stevens, 67, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 in the comfort of his home. Mr. Stevens was born in Covington, LA, has lived most of his adult life in Jennings and recently moved to Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW. Mr. Stevens worked most of his life as a Supervising Electrician, seventeen years as an Electrical Supervisor for Saudi Aramco and retired owning and operating his own Inspection Company. During his younger years, he enjoyed water sports and has always loved to dance and sing. He was a man of integrity, with strong family value, devotion to his wife and son and his friendship with his siblings was priceless. He will be remembered for his love of life and sense of humor. He was a member of First Church of Christ. He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 42 years, Beverly Grimes Stevens of Lake Charles; son, Gregory Glynn Stevens and wife Erica of Jennings; four grandchildren, Canaan Scott Stevens, Noah Shane Stevens, Hannah Paige Stevens and Nathan Isaac Stevens; four sisters, Carolyn Conley of Port Neches, TX, Barbara Murray of Picayune, MS, Sheila Francis of Crowley, and Susan Galosi of Katy, TX and three brothers, Larry Stevens of Lake Charles, Charles Stevens of New Ulm, TX and Keith Stevens of Sulphur. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl R. and Eunice Myers Stevens and older brother, Carl R. Stevens Jr. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Jack Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
