Goldie Hanks

Goldie Hanks, the former Goldie Menard, 68, of Lake Charles died at 1:45 PM on Monday, November 19, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hanks was a native of Carencro and had been a resident of Lake Charles for most of her life.

Survivors include: her husband, Emery Hanks; six children, Ludray Hanks, Rod Hanks and his wife Donna, Sharon Breedlove and her husband Richard, Pauline Soileau and her husband Mike, John Hanks and Luke Hanks; seventeen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by a son, Edmond Carl Hanks; her parents, Edmond and Emily (Jacqueneaux) Menard; and four brothers and sister.

Pallbearers will be Ludray Hanks, Rod Hanks, Richard Breedlove, Mike Soileau, John Hanks and Luke Hanks.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM.
