Gordon Propst, 77, of Lake Charles died Thursday, January 4. Gordon was a native of Jennings but lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a 1964 graduate of Lake Charles High School and received his bachelor’s degree from McNeese State University.
After graduation from McNeese he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Propst received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Louisiana State University and practiced law in Lake Charles for a short period of time. He was administrator at Robinswood School from 1972-2020. He was the past president of the Lake Charles Jaycees, a member of Rotary International. He was also an active participant in the Southwest Louisiana Trade Expo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Norma Gordon Propst and his wife Angela Robicheaux Propst.
He is survived by his brother Bill Propst ( Vicky), two nieces, six grand nieces, one grand nephew, three great grand nieces, and a Godchild, Mariana Espinoza.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Sunday, January 14, 2024 and led by Deacon Paul Gregory in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. The visitation will be 12pm until time of service.
