Grace "Gmaw" Boullion Vinson

Grace “Gmaw” Boullion Vinson, 90, of Lake Charles gracefully danced into eternity surrounded by the love of her family at 7:44 PM on Sunday, May 26, 2024 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Vinson was born on April 14, 1934 in Erath, was raised in Cameron and moved to Lake Charles in 2005. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

She was a beacon of love, faith, and unwavering strength. She filled every moment of her life with boundless love, compassion, and devotion to her cherished family. She poured her heart into nurturing and supporting each member of her family. Mrs. Vinson was known for her gentle spirit and unwavering positivity that saw the goodness in everyone, never meeting a stranger. She was a woman of faith and a devoted prayer warrior who believed in the power of praying the rosary.

Mrs. Vinson had a zest for life that was evident in her love for cajun dancing, her passion for cooking delicious meals, and her enjoyment of adventurous cruises. She had an immense love for the beauty of rose bushes. Among many of her talents, she had a knack for canning.

May her spirit continue to dance among the stars with her loved ones in Heaven.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Raymond “RJ” Vinson, Jr. of Welsh, Becky Kershaw (Charles “Pnut”) of Lake Charles, Troy Vinson (Cheryl) of Deridder, and Chasity Griffith of Lake Charles; fourteen grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Vinson, Sr.; son, Kevin Vinson; and siblings, Paul, Lewis, and Jewels Boullion, Mary Sauer, Irene Boudreaux, and Nellie Trosclair.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 30, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
