Grace Vizinat

Grace McCauley Vizinat, 80, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 in a local hospital.


Mrs. Vizinat was born November 07, 1932 in Ville Platte, LA, where she lived most of her life. She lived the past ten years in Lake Charles. She retired as a receptionist for Dr. Chuck Aswell in Ville Platte. Mrs. Vizinat enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved baking and cooking her delicious meals. Mrs. Vizinat was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.


She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Vicki Vizinat Dupre and husband Alcide (Alley) of Lake Charles, Keith Vizinat and wife Bobette of Baton Rouge and Pam Vizinat Kekich and husband Steve, also of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Eric Dupre and wife Becky, Jason Dupre, Kim Dupre Slocum and husband Chris, Brittany Vizinat, Mary Vizinat and Kevin and Katie Kekich and two great-grandchildren, Seth and Katelyn Slocum and one sister, Linda McCauley Fontenot and husband Glenn of Ville Platte.


She was preceded by her husband of sixty-three years, Jesse Vizinat; granddaughter, Allison Vizinat; daughter-in-law, Marita Vizinat and brother, Silton McCauley.


A Memorial Mass will be at 1:00 PM Friday, March 15, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father Ruben Buller will officiate. In respect of the wishes of Mrs. Vizinat, her body was donated to the Anatomical Studies of LSU New Orleans.
