Greg Sonnier

Gregory Paul Sonnier, 59, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.  He was born September 17, 1961 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  Greg graduated from Sulphur High School in 1979 and attended McNeese State University.  He worked many years in the Gulf of Mexico on various platforms as an electrician and Offshore Installation Manager.  He also worked in the South China Sea and as a project manager in Baku, Azerbaijan.  Greg attended University United Methodist Church.

Greg had a great love for his wife and family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.  At home he was known as “Mr. Fix It” as he could fix just about anything and everything.  Greg had a thirst for knowledge and never stopped learning.  He attended several timber frame construction courses, basic sailing course, baking classes and even a race car driving course.  Greg enjoyed family trips, traveling, and he appreciated the great outdoors while camping, hiking, and fishing.  He had an abundant love for life and lived it to the fullest.  He was an amazing man, so loved, and will be missed by all.

Those left to cherish Mr. Sonnier’s memory are his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Rebecca “Becky” Hebert Sonnier; sons, Christopher Sonnier of Lake Charles and Nicholas Sonnier and wife Ashley of Lakewood, Colorado; parents, C.P. (Buddy) and Alice Sonnier of Carlyss, LA; brothers, Timothy Sonnier (Tamela), Douglas Sonnier (Debbie) and Daniel Sonnier (Brandi); parents-in-law, Olin (Buggs) and Barbara Hebert; along with many, many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Matthew Sonnier.

A celebration of his life will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday July 10, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff.  A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:00 P.M. until time of the service, at the funeral home on Saturday.
