Gregory Neill Cox, 53, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana passed away at 12:40 AM on Saturday, December 26, 2015 in Austin, Texas with his loving family at his side.
Greg was born on December 2, 1962 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the parents of Robert Cox and Linda Lofton. Being a lifelong resident of Moss Bluff, he was a 1980 graduate of Sam Houston High School and attended McNeese State University. Greg worked as a plant operator for Genesis Energy (formerly Jupiter Chemical) for over 30 years and was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. He participated as the president of Dixie Youth Baseball for a number of years. He enjoyed passing the time while fishing and was a winner of the Big Bass Bonanza. He also enjoyed passing the time while cooking and entertaining his family and friends, playing cards on Monday nights, as well as watching the New Orleans Saints, and watching SHHS baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Lorelei Cox of Moss Bluff, LA; sons, Clint Cox and wife Lacie, of Moss Bluff, and Grant Cox and wife Kayla, of Lake Charles; daughter, Jenna Mistric and husband Jacque, of Moss Bluff; parents, Robert Cox and Linda Lofton; sister, Roxanne Davis and husband Bill, of LaPorte, TX; three grandchildren, JoLeigh Mistric, William Cox, and John Cox; grandmother, Dolly Lofton; as well as many friends and family.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Father Alan Trouille will be the celebrant. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 6:00PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at 2:00 PM until the time of services. Cremation is entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
