Greta Faye Desormeaux

Greta Dubois Desormeaux, 79, of Houston, TX passed away at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 1, 2018 in a Webster, TX hospital.

Mrs. Desormeaux was born on March 8, 1939 in Lake Arthur, LA and had resided in Houston since 1967 where she was a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church for the last 45 years. She was a homemaker which allowed her to be involved with her children at school as a room mother and volunteer. Mrs. Desormeaux worked for Walmart in her later years until becoming fully disabled. She enjoyed being a part of her community. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and also worked the local election pools for many years.

Those left to cherish her memory are children, Gale Guidry Evard (Terry), Tony Guidry (Beth), Pamela Desormeaux Mixson, and Rhonda Desormeaux Hickman (Kevin); sister, Lee Ella Dubois Guidry; grandchildren, Crystalyn Tolbert (Joe), Brannon Evard, Schlawyn Guidry Stockwell, Latasha Michaliszyn (Matt), Patricia Sultan (Zahid), Tony Guidry, Jr., Angela Ferrand (Nathan Mansfield), and Erik Ferrand; great grandchildren, Savannah Tolbert, Skylar and Landon Stockwell, Madeleine and Edwin Michaliszyn, Tristan Bassett, Aariyan and Arsalan Sultan, and Julia and Myles Mansfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eulise and Rosie Dubois and her sister, Joyce Duplechin.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles, LA. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 9:00 AM until leaving for the church.
