Gustane "Gussie" Courville

Gustane "Gussie" Courville, 87, of Lake Charles, La died at 8:45 PM on Monday, October 7, 2013 at a local care facility. Mrs. Courville was born August 7, 1926 in Bristol, La and lived in Lake Charles for most of her life. She attended Catholic services with her family, was active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, and was a devoted prayer warrior. She loved her family, enjoyed cooking and will always be remembered for her potato salad. She lived a simple life and will be missed dearly. Mrs. Courville is survived by her four sons, Allen Courville and wife Beverly of Lake Charles, Leslie Courville, Jr. and wife Joanne of Mesa, Az, Floyd Courville and wife Susana of Lake Charles, and Nolan Courville of LeBleu Settlement; sister, Eva Dell Andrepont and husband Berlin of Church Point, La; brother, Leroy Burleigh and wife Jean of Breaux Bridge, La; grandchildren, James Courville, Michelle Hart and husband Tom, Daniel Courville, Kathleen Courville, Keith Courville and wife Sherry, Adam Courville and Victoria Courville; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse of many years, Leslie J. Courville, Sr. Her funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 1:00.
