Gwen Gaspard Hebert

March 14, 1936 — July 2, 2015

Gwen Gaspard Hebert, 79, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many went to be with the Lord of Thursday, July 2, 2015. Mrs. Hebert was born in Lake Charles and lived most of her life in Moss Bluff. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School class of 1953. She worked as a bookkeeper all of her life and for the last 14 years at Robbins Contracting in Moss Bluff. She loved to spend time with her family and laugh. One of her favorite things to do when she was younger was walk on the beach. She was a self-proclaimed "beach bum." She leaves to cherish her memory, her four daughters who were her pride and joy: Edie Robbins and husband Ken of Moss Bluff, Lori Hebert Hobbs and husband Duffy of Austin, TX, Tina Sellers and husband Peto of Moss Bluff, and Myra Hebert also of Moss Bluff. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren who she loved dearly, Amanda Powell Thompson, Christie Powell, Travis Sellers, Tyler Potts, Cody Sellers, Stacey Sellers Chisholm, and Chase Fruge. She also had 4 great-grandchildren, Peyton and Emma-Beth Potts and Kolby and Jaxon Sellers. She was also waiting on the arrival of two more great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Hebert; two brothers, Frannie Gaspard and Arnold "Blue" Gaspard; and two sisters, Sybil LeBleu and Ethel Derouen. Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Tony Bourque and his father Ray Bourque will officiate. Burial will follow in New Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a scripture service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service. In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue Suite #310, White Plains, NY 10605.
