Gwynda Pauline Mounce

Gwynda Pauline Mounce, 70 of Sulphur passed away on June 14, 2014 in a local hospital. Gwynda was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur and belonged to the League of Mary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Gwynda loved to sew and could fit anyone, she was a great cook, especially baking her chocolate sheet cakes. Gwynda will be missed by so many people because of her special friendship she had with everyone. Gwynda is survived by her husband of 51 years, Johnny Mounce of Sulphur; her children, Kim Qualls and husband, Jim, Jolanda Bourgeois and husband, Greg, Terri Beth Shook and husband, Steve, Scott Mounce, Brandon Mounce and wife, Bridget and Tyler Mounce; grandchildren, Lacee, Kallie, and Madison Qualls, Mallary Wentzell , Ryan and wife, Andrea and Kyle Bourgeois, Brittany Mitchell and husband, Scott, Stephanie White and husband, Chase, Taylor Shook and wife, Erin, Alec Mounce, Heather Williams and husband, Jason, Kayley Mancuso and husband, Trey; great-grandchildren, Karsen Farr , Averi and Alexis Bourgeois, Hunter, Ayden and Ally Williams and Ace Mancuso and a sister, Polly A. Bland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Edith Landry, brother, Jimmy Lee Landry and a granddaughter, Megan Wentzell. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Andrews Kollannoor officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 4-9 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of leaving for the church.
