Gayle and Ann Marshall, married for fifty-three years, passed away days apart, in the comfort of their home.

Ann Martin Collins Marshall, 74, of Lake Charles died Wednesday, December 28, 2022.  Ann was born on July 18, 1948 in Lake Charles to Lucy and James Madison “Matt” Collins.  She was a graduate of St. Charles Academy, McNeese State University and the University of New Orleans. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

Ann was a teacher throughout many schools in Calcasieu Parish, most of her career with J.I. Watson Elementary.

Gayle Marshall, 74, of Lake Charles, died Saturday, December 31, 2022.  Gayle was born August 6, 1948, in Lake Charles to H.B. and Inez Browning Marshall.  He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School, McNeese State University and in 1969 received his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University in New Orleans. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Gayle practiced law in Lake Charles for many years and worked for the American Red Cross, Johnson Funeral Home, and Consolata Cemetery before his retirement.

Gayle and Ann were faithful servants of the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Gayle, an active member of Monsignor Cramer’s 4th degree Knights of Columbus, usher and together, they were members of the choir and ACT’s.

They were preceded in death by their parents.

Those left to cherish their memory are their children, Michael Marshall (LeAnna) of Lake Charles, and Megan Mariveles (Rei) of Spring, Texas and their beloved grandchildren, Noah, Hayden, and Reese Harper.  They also leave his cousin (sister at heart to both), Kay Vaughan of Lake Charles.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 14, 2023 under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Monsignor Daniel Torres will serve as celebrant.  Graveside services at Consolata Cemetery were held following their passing.
