Hans David Funk XIV, entered into eternal rest on June 6, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 9, 2011at 11a.m. in Robison Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roger Templeton will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss, LA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 3-9p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Thursday at 8a.m. until time of service. Pall bearers will be Greg Sarver, Will Bergeron, Andrew Hammond, Malcolm Hebert, Bubba Richard, Ryan Martin, Darren Landry and Bobby Guthrie. Honorary pall bearers are Chris Funk, Bill and James McMullen. David was a native of Lake Charles and a longtime Sulphur resident. He worked for Citgo Clifton Ridge for 28 years and was a longtime member of Oak Park United Methodist Church. David enjoyed working in the yard, his workshop and gardening. He was an avid Saints fan and loved NASCAR David is survived by his wife, Wendy Funk of Sulphur, son, Hans Alexander Funk XV, of Sulphur, daughter, Tara Cherie Funk of Lake Charles, mother, Judy Funk of Sulphur, sister, Lisa McMullen and husband, Bill of Sulphur, brother, Chris P. Funk and wife, SuAnna of Lake Charles and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Hans Donald Funk, and his paternal grandparents Sigrid L. and Hans-Peter Adolf Funk, XII, and maternal grandparents Harold and Ruth Leona Dees.
