Harley Noah Hebert, 88, passed away on May 13, 2017 at a local care facility.
Mr. Hebert grew up with 8 other siblings and then served in the US Navy. Mr. Hebert always stayed active in the community. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Lake Charles Lodge 165. He was also active in the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Hebert was the founder of his company, Swisco, and was loyal to his employees and associates. Music held a special part of his life; he was the vocalist for the band Goldenaires. Harley was a giving man that never met a stranger and loved to entertain, cook, and had many fun times out in West Texas. In his leisure time he became an accomplished golfer. Most importantly were his family and his wife, Margie, which he always treated like a princess.
Mr. Hebert is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margie Kuttner Hebert; brother, Wallace (Jay) Hebert; son, Ronnie Hebert and wife Debra; four daughters, Kay Janca and husband David, Ann Grimm and Art Brooks, Peggy Larson, and Darla Sue Hebert; six grandchildren, Ami Hebert, Robert Authement, Harley Hebert II, Ashley Keates, Ryan Larson, and Stephanie Willis; and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Loretta Hebert.
A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 1PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Rev. Katie Simpson will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8PM on Tuesday May 16. Visitation will continue Wednesday morning at 10AM until the start of the service.
In leiu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Mr. Hebert’s memory to the Methodist Childrens Home.
