Harold "Butchie" Lee Benoit

Harold Benoit, 78, of Sulphur, LA passed away on April 20, 2022.

Harold was born on January 7, 1944, to Vina and Erson Benoit in Gueydan, LA. He was a 1962 graduate of Sulphur High School, after graduation he served his country in the United States Air Force.  Harold was a forklift operator for Firestone Tire & Rubber Plant for 36 years and served as a board member for American Legion Post 179.  Harold truly enjoyed the great outdoors, working in his yard and garden, fishing, and sitting on his porch admiring the outdoors. He will be remembered as a jokester who always had a joke to tell, and for his wonderful sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Beverly Benoit; his parents; brother, Leroy James Benoit.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Cindy Strother and husband Kenneth, Hal Benoit and Elly Benoit, and Angie McAlister and husband James McAlister all of Sulphur; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and siblings, Vickie Benoit Thomas of Sulphur; and Mickie Benoit of Houston. He will also be greatly missed by his companion of 15 years, Brenda Gilbert.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Beverung will officiate.  Visitation will begin on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM rosary. Visitation will resume on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South in Carlyss.
