Harold Lee Hal Spears Ii

October 1, 1957 — August 16, 2011

Harold Lee "Hal" Spears, II, 53, of Lake Charles passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in a local hospital.


Mr. Spears was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a graduate of Barbe High School. He worked nearly thirty years as an Electrician, having been employed by Montgomery Electric and LA Solaray. He was grateful to Perry Vincent of Solaray, a friend since early childhood, for introducing him to the latest technology of Solar Power, as he had completed the training and was enjoying the challenge. Hal took great pride in the craft and quality of his work. He also enjoyed friends, fishing and music. His greatest love was his children. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church.


Mr. Spears will be most remembered for his personality and the "nick names" he assigned to all his family and close friends.


To his children, he will always be their "Hero". He leaves to honor his memory, one son, Houston Logan Spears and fiance' Megan of Lake Charles; one daughter, Alexandra Lei Spears of Westlake; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Spears and wife Angela of Lake Charles; two sisters, Gayle Istre and husband Danny of Lake Charles and Alice Joy Parr and husband Michael of Moss Bluff; his best friend, Jerry Graham of Toledo Bend and thirty two nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Lee Spears and Alice Gaudet Courmier and his step- father, Lee Roy Courmier.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the First United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Jeffery Ralston will officiate. Interment will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation Saturday will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the church.
