Harold L. Rougeau, 81, of Lake Charles, was called home by God on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
A native of Orange, Texas, Harold was an end and receiver for McNeese Cowboys' Football in the 1950's. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 50+ years and retired from the IBEW in the 1980's. Harold attended St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church and previously served with the Men of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Chloe. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Betty Henry Rougeau; his daughter, Terri Rougeau Comeaux and step-daughter, Kelly Holland.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, Betty Holland Rougeau and her children; Steve and Jackie Holland of Big Lake; Mark Holland of Illinois; Gina Holland of Sulphur; Nikki and Randy Lazo of Iowa.
Harold will also be forever remembered by his four sons and their wives, Don and Pat Rougeau of Fulshear, Texas; Steve and Cathy Rougeau of Texas; Randy and Nanette Rougeau of Lake Charles; Clay and Cathy Rougeau of Conway, Arkansas, his sisters Viola Owens of Houston, Texas and Rue Bilbo of Orange, Texas, and a host of grand children, great-grand children, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 30, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate . Harold selflessly donated his body to medical research. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday until the start of the Rosary at 1:30 PM.
