Harold Reed

Harold S. "Skeeter" Reed, 52, of Westlake passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Reed was born, raised and educated in California. He was a graduate of Eagle Rock High School in Los Angeles and worked his younger years as a Security Guard in Hollywood. Mr. Reed worked most of his life as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Construction industry, primarily for, Los Angeles County Road Department, Civil Construction and HD Trucking. He enjoyed dirt bikes, motorcycles and spending time with his friends fishing and hanging out at the camp. His favorite season was "football season" and his favorite sport, NASCAR! Mr. Reed will be most remembered for his love and devotion to his family, his overwhelming desire to help others and his kind heart. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of nineteen years, Toni Anne Martarona Reed of Westlake; one daughter, Deanna Reed DeMarco and husband Robert of Fort Collins, CO; one son, Vincent Joseph Reed of Westlake; one granddaughter, Christina Hope DeMarco of Fort Collins, CO; his mother, Sandra Kay Reed of Fort Collins, CO; one brother, Michael Reed and wife Marilyn of Moss Bluff; one sister, Susan Reed and partner Nicole Hay of Brush, CO; many cousins, nieces, nephews and his extended family of in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene "EJ" Reed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2014 at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Mike Barras and Deacon Garrett Caraway will officiate. Father Burt Borel and Father Scott DesOrmeaux and Deacon Fred Reed will con-celebrate. Interment will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation Friday will be from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation Saturday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Words of comfort to the family may be expressed at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net.
