Harry Clayton Northrop Iii

Harry Clayton Northrop, III, 65 years old, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Westlake, LA. He was born on May 21, 1956 to Lyle James and Lois Lavergne Northrop in Provencal, LA.

Mr. Northrop was active in the Masonic Fraternity. He was a perpetual member of Magnolia Lodge #238, Vinton Lodge #364, Sulphur Lodge #424, where he served as Master in 2000, and Honorary Perpetual member of Westlake Lodge #443.   He served the Grand Lodge of Louisiana F&AM as District Deputy Grand Master in 2005, Grand Pursuivant in 2007 and Grand Senior deacon in 2021.  He was a member of Lake Charles York Rite Bodies, St. Charles Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, a 33^rd degree Scottish Rite Mason and past venerable master of Lake Charles Scottish Rite Bodies. Twice serving as Potentate of Habibi Shriners, he was an emeritus representative to the Imperial Shrine Session from Habibi, and a member of the Cabiri. 

He was a dutiful father to his children, together they enjoyed summers at the deer lease in Ragley and taking them to the lake on the Pontoon boat. A fond memory was “his trial by fire” way of teaching his children to swim. Upon welcoming grandchildren, he doted on them tirelessly, spending time with his family brought unlimited joy.

He will best be remembered for his pleasant demeanor, side splitting humor, and for the dedication to his family and Masonic Brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory: his children, Tinelle Smith and Harry C. (Pamela) Northrop IV; grandchildren, Kelsi, Dakoda, Bradley, Tucker, Rhett, and his grandpup, Linda; a great grandchild, Rehmi; sister, Vickie (Gary) Northrop Blackwell; his sidekick, Paco “Aucoin”.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Northrop.

His funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the start of the service at 7:00 PM.  Burial will be on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
