Harry J. Ellis, Jr.

Harry J. Ellis, Jr., 86, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Ellis was born in Bay St. Louis, MS, raised in Kiln, MS, and has lived sixty-five years in Lake Charles. He served the United States Army during WWII, serving in the Invasion of Okinawa. Mr. Ellis retired after thirty years as a Truck Driver for Mobil Oil. He enjoyed boating, fishing and camping and his McDonald's Breakfast Club. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor.

He leaves to honor his memory, two daughters, Carolyn Boatwright and husband Donald of Henderson, TX; Gwen Derouen of Galveston, TX; one son, Ronald Charlie Ellis of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren, Derick Ellis, Cheryl Savant, Jody Savant, Angela Savant-Myers, Darrin Savant, Brad Derouen, Wendy Guidry, Kurt Derouen, Sarah Ellis and Scott Ellis and seventeen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Dorothy Roach Ellis and one son, Robert Wayne Ellis.

Graveside memorial services will at 2:00 PM Friday, October 26, 2012 in Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
