Harry Richard Ellender, Sr., 85 passed away on February 9, 2014 in a local hospital. Harry worked for the Olin Chemical Refinery for 42 years before retiring and served his country in the U. S. Navy. Harry is survived by his son, Harry Richard Ellender, Jr. of Kansas,; two daughters, Natalie Lowery and husband, Tony of Sulphur and Amanda Voss and husband, Karl of Sulphur; 2 brothers, Walter Ellender of Mississippi and Dudley Ray Ellender of Texas; sister, Marie Gibbons and husband, George of Sulphur; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Ellender, Charlie Lowery, Dominic LeBlanc, Mitchell LeBlanc, Ian Ellender, John-Henry Voss; 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Helen Patricia Ellender. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Patrick LaPoint officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will have a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the funeral home from 3 till time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
