Hazel DeVillier Dunlap, 84, of Lake Charles, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2018 in a local care facility.
Ms. Dunlap was born on December 20, 1933 to Robert DeVillier and Marie Park. She attended Lake Charles High School and was a drummer in the Kilties until graduating in 1952. Ms. Dunlap was strong in her catholic faith and spent countless hours volunteering at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She was very creative and also enjoyed gardening. She also loved to bake and making memories with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joanna Gulsby and husband Michael; sister, Shirley Broussard; half sisters, Betty Bonvillian and Ophelia Duplantis; half brother, Joe Park; her grandson, Christopher Gulsby who was her pride and joy; and cherished nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy Geddes; and her brothers-in-law, Retired LTC John D. Geddes and Harold Broussard.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Father Trey Ange will officiate. Cremation will be entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McNeese Autism Program-BRIDGES at 4205 Ryan St. P.O. Box 91895, Lake Charles, LA, 70609 to the attention of Lettie Goings.
