Hazel Dill

Hazel Dill, 79, of Lake Charles died at 10:05 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. Dill was born on January 19, 1935 in Lufkin, TX. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. Mrs. Dill adored her family, especially her grandkids. She loved life and laughed often. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and quick wit. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving, devoted husband of 55 years, Paul Dill of Lake Charles; a son, Henry Gormly and wife Connie of Lake Charles; three daughters, Mary Dill Jordan and husband Tim of Lake Charles, Vernell Lyons of Lake Charles, and Peggy Howell of Gillis; a brother, Rollie "Buster" Driver and wife Allyn of Houston; beloved sister-in-law, Shirley Musick of Arlington, TX; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Andy Buckley and Rev. Francis LaRocque will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the start of the service.
