Hazel Mcbride

Hazel Benoit McBride, 91, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2014 in her residence. Mrs. McBride was born January 9, 1923 in Mermentau Cove, LA and has lived in Lake Charles for most of her life. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She was the past owner of McBride's Roller Disco and sold at Stanley and worked at Wal-Mart on Nelson Road as an operator. She enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time with her family. Mrs. McBride is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Willie J. McBride; children, Willie D. McBride and wife Tam, Melvin Ray McBride, Rene McBride and wife Tammy, and Troy K. McBride; three sisters, Eunice Broussard, Mable Foreman, and Leola Fruge; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pierre and Eugenia Benoit; and her brother, Earl Eugene Benoit. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
