Heath Allan Royer, 36, of Lake Charles, LA died April 21, 2015 in his residence. Heath was born on September 15, 1978 in Lake Charles, LA, to Rodney Royer and Debbie Stroderd. He joined the United States Air Force and served one tour in Kuwait as well as two tours in Saudi Arabia. After nine years he was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant and continued to serve his country as a police officer in Lafayette and Broussard LA, where he graduated from the academy as top cadet. He had a passionate love for his country and his patriotism was contagious. His love for his two children was extremely strong and their bond couldn't go unnoticed. He enjoyed playing video games and loved riding motorcycles. To pass the time he would go to the shooting range and shoot the many firearms he had collected over the years. Heath is survived by his two children, his son, Gage Allan Royer and daughter Brooklyn Marie Royer of Copperas Cove, TX; parents, Ronnie Royer and wife Shelly of Spring, TX, and Debbie Stroderd and husband Rusty of Lake Charles, LA; sister, Shauncey Lyn Stelly and husband Scott of Carencro, LA; step-brothers, Patrick Stroderd and wife Tessa of Lake Charles, LA, and Russell Stroderd and wife Trisha of Katy, TX; maternal grandmother Ruby Spence; paternal Grandparents, Sheffield and Bobby Royer; nieces, Libbie, Sadie, Sophie, Tatum, Shae, and Sadi; nephews, Austin, Darien, Gavin, Brennen, and Lafe; as well as numerous aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Willie Spence. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, April 24, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Saturday, April 25 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Rev. Andrew Martin will officiate services.
