Helen Conner Peloquin

September 28, 1922 — October 3, 2011

Helen Conner Peloquin, 89, of Lake Charles, entered this world, September 28, 1922 and entered into eternal rest, October 3, 2011.


Helen was known as "Pelly" by her family and friends. She was born at her home in Lake Arthur and later moved to Lake Charles where she married Maxie Peloquin (deceased) on November 26, 1939. Together they had 5 children, Velma (Peloquin) Schaferling, Ray Peloquin, Bonnie (Peloquin) Valenzuela, Johnathon Abra Peloquin, and Gary Max Peloquin. She had 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and her sweet grand dog, Annie.


She is survived by her brother Earl Lee Conner, sister, Marie (Conner) Bowles.

She is preceded in death by her parents Abra and Theresa Conner, her brothers, Ivan, Albert, Adam, Allen, Harry and Paul Conner as well as her sisters, Alice Guidry and Anna Belle Davis.


Helen was a full-time home maker and devoted mother and grandmother. She resided at 901 16th Street in Lake Charles and was a parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church from 1946 to the day the Lord called her home. She will be remembered in all of our hearts as mother, grandmother and devoted baby sitter to many little ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 6, 2011 in St. Margaret Catholic Church. Father Whitney Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation Wednesday will be from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 7:00 PM. Visitation Thursday will be from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
