Helen Corine Edde Hudson, 105, of Lake Charles, LA died at 8:20 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2013 in a local care facility. Mrs. Hudson was born June 20, 1908 in Rockwood, TN and was a graduate of City High School in Chattanooga, TN, where she attended Business College. She moved to California in 1946, where she worked for federal housing until 1957 and for the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) in Los Angeles, CA, as a contract and materials supervisor, retiring in 1976 after almost twenty years of service. Mrs. Hudson moved to Lake Charles in 2004. She was raised in the Methodist Faith and always lived a Christian life. She enjoyed reading mysteries and westerns, crossword puzzles and playing Bingo. She also enjoyed watching horse races and cooking. She had a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She was the true meaning of a lady, with a kind and generous heart. Mrs. Hudson is survived by her son, William "Bill" Clay Hudson, Sr. of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, William C. Hudson, Jr. and wife Judy of Fullerton, CA and their three children, Michelle, Angel, and Nathan; Rhonda Neylan of Encinitas, CA her two children, Connar and Jannae; and Gregory H. Hudson of Lake Charles and two children, Kaitlyn and Madelyn; six great-great-grandchildren; special family members, Loretta Boutte of Lake Charles; her daughters and Helen's great-nieces, Lisa Pickering of Richardson, TX and her daughter, Raché and Alicia Boutte of Lake Charles; and very special friends, Frank Edwards and Linda Acosta and her son Zack of San Diego, CA and Doris LaCour and grand-daughter, Meagan. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost fifty years, Jack Landrum Hudson; one son, Jack Edde Hudson; daughter-in-law, Ann J. Hudson; and sister, Frances Edde. Her memorial service will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jack O'Dell will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
