Helen Edwards Hoffpauir, 88 of Sulphur, LA was called Home on January 2, 2021.
Helen was one of four children born to Louis and Tressie Edwards, she was born on July 19, 1932 in Orange, TX.
While attending a church function, she met a gentleman on leave from the Navy, whom she would later marry. She and Haywood were married in 1955, together welcoming four children. She was a caring wife and mother, ever attentive to their needs. She was a member of Sulphur Bible Missionary Church, a church her husband had pastored. She accompanied Haywood as they ministered together in churches in various locations spreading the word of God.
As a mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, canning, sewing, word searches and listening to old time hymns. She could make a pound of ground beef stretch to feed her family of six. Her hobby was her teapot collection.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband of sixty-two years, Reverend Willard Haywood Hoffpauir; a son, Gary Hoffpauir; a grandson, Andy Hoffpauir; a great granddaughter, Isla Rose Cary; and her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her children, Darrell L. Hoffpauir (Christi Nabors), Peggy (John) Cary, Jerry (Theresa) L. Hoffpauir; grandchildren, Dylan (Bailey) Hoffpauir, Clinton (Gina) Cary, Stuart (Kimberly) Cary, Cory Hoffpauir, Billy (Jessica) Hale, and Amanda Reglin; seven great grandchildren and one on the way; her siblings, Elmer Edwards, Alma Wardle, and Johnnie Maul.
The family will welcome friends on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, located at 2171 Hwy 171 Moss Bluff, LA 70611 beginning at 6pm to 8pm. Visitation will resume Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 9am until time of service. Funeral services led by Reverend Jesse Truitt will begin at 10am. She will be laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA.
