It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that the children of Helen L. LeDoux announce the death of their loving mother on January 3, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones. Helen was born on August 15, 1928 to Alex Legere and Avilia Legere. A stay at home mom most of her life, her mission was getting her children to and from school, a clean house, and a hot meal on the table when her husband and children came home from work and school. Helen was a loving and supporting mother and wife. She was a devout Catholic who attended Our Lady of Lasalette Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Helen was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 8107. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, the 5 Ks , Kirby KENT LeDoux and wife Becky and their son Scott and his daughter Karsyn; Marion KAY LeDoux Cahanin and husband Elton and their children David and wife Michelle and his daughter Emily and Sheri Cahanin Cormier and husband Erick and their children Kianna, Patience, and Nadia; KATHY Ann LeDoux Romero and husband Carroll and their son Derrick and his fianc Deidre Fontenot; KIM James LeDoux and wife Diane and their children Chad and wife Greta and Jason LeDoux; KEITHA Marie LeDoux DiGiovanni and her children Zachary, Kade, and Allie DiGiovanni. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Dorothy LeDoux of Sulphur and Pam LeDoux of Longville, brother-in-law Alvin Ellis of Sulphur, and a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby J. LeDoux; her parents; half brother, Allen Legere; half sisters Annie Broussard and Mae Pego; and step brother, Joseph Newton Vidalier. Her favorite saying towards the end of her life was, IM BROKE , physically, especially if she didnt want to do what you asked her to do and then would say THANK YOU for everything you did for her. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; David Cahanin, Chad LeDoux, Jason LeDoux, Derrick Romero, Scott LeDoux, Zachary DiGiovanni, and Kade DiGiovanni. The family would also like to recognize her care giver, Sharon Potier who had patience and love in her heart even when Mom made care giving difficult. She will be in our hearts forever, along with her husband and her mother, and is, BROKE NO MORE. Services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Visitation will be at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 4-9 pm with a rosary prayed at 6 pm and resume on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 8 am til time of service. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity in her name or the Alzheimer Association.
