Helen Lois DeJean, 92, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in a local hospital. Mrs. DeJean was born in Jennings, LA and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She retired with over twenty years as an Accountant for Sowela Technical Institute. During her late years, Mrs. DeJean enjoyed working as a caregiver for the elderly (many of them younger than she). Her greatest joy was her family. Mrs. DeJean was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and Altar Society. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Carole D. Breaux (Bill) of Lake Charles and Kaye D. Cowden (Glenn) of Sadler, TX; seven grandchildren, Bill Breaux, Jr. (Kiisha), Bridget Kingery (Jerry) and Buc Breaux (Melanie), all of Lake Charles, Amanda Fontenot of Seattle, WA, Robert Cowden, James Cowden and Meagan Cowden, all of Sadler, TX; six great-grandchildren, Chase Breaux, Kara Breaux, Cameron Kingery, Conner Kingery, Crosby Kingery and Maddie Breaux and one great-granddaughter, Emma Breaux. "While her loves remains with each of us forever, MawMaw Helen will be greatly missed". She was preceded in death by her husband, Gabriel Edward DeJean; -parents, Lucius and Corrine Robinson and three brothers, Ned, Bubba and Walter Robinson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Monsignor James Gaddy will officiate. Interment services will follow in Prien Memorial Park. A rosary service will begin Saturday at 11:00 AM follow by visitation until the time of service at the funeral home.
