Helen Lyles

Helen Vollmer Lyles, 83, was peacefully called home July 2, 2012 surrounded by the love of her family.

Ms. Helen was born to Nicholas and Jennie Vollmer in Venice, Illinois. She was married to the love of her life, Ira Lyles, for 60 years. Helen devoted her life to providing love, faith, strength, joy, passion, humor, and happiness to her husband and children.

Ms. Lyles worked at Kroger for 25 years where she, made many lifelong friends. She loved to visit her "favorite" customers and always made them feel special with her smile and twinkling blue eyes. Her retirement years were spent enjoying her family and sweet dog Maggie in her lap. Helen's greatest joy in life was her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Alan Lyles and wife Debbie, Robert Lyles and wife Effie; daughter, Iris Fontenot and husband Moe, Laura Lyles and Daughter-in-law Diane Lyles; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren.

Ms. Lyles is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ira Lyles, and son Craig Lyles.

Her celebration of life will be Friday, July 6, 2012 in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Fr. Alan Trouille will officiate services. Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 4 PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume Friday at 8AM until 10 AM for services.
