Helen M. Hebert

Mrs. Helen Hebert of Lake Charles passed away on September 17, 2016 after battling pneumonia.

A devoted wife and mother, Helen enjoyed TV mysteries, reading and time spent outdoors in her garden. Above all, she enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Helen was a devout Christian, a member of Fairview Methodist Church and, later, a member of the University United Methodist Church, both of Lake Charles.

Helen is survived by her brother, James Benoit of Lake Charles; sister, Jeanette Medus of Tomball, TX; children, Debbie Cooley of Pearland, TX, Connie Briley and husband Randy Briley of Moss Bluff, LA, Danny Hebert of Lake Charles, and Cindy Chesnutt of Houston, TX; as well as 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Semon and Charlsie (Kendall) Benoit; her brother, Robert Benoit; and her beloved husband, Delmar Hebert.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David Dewitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
