Helen Rhame

Helen Rhame, 69, of Lake Charles died at 4:30 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in her residence.

Ms. Rhame was a life long resident of the Lake Charles area. She began her career as an operator at Southern Bell Phone Company and became one of the first "Frame Dames." She retired from ATT after 40 years of service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

She is survived by four sisters: Manove Hall and husband Ronnie of Tuscon, AZ, Delores Trosclair of Lake Charles, LA, Diane Gross and husband Harold of Roanoke, AL, Faye Ivanyisky of Hammond, LA, one brother Howard(Sonny) Rhame Jr. and wife Josie of San Antonio, TX; half sister, Lela Baker of

Spencer, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Rhame is preceded in death by her parents Bessie and Howard Rhame; one brother Cecil Rhame; and a half brother, G.K. Rhame.

Family graveside services were held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Melder, Louisiana. Pastor Jason Townley was the celebrant.
