Henry Broussard

Henry Broussard, 84, of Lake Charles died Friday November 14, 2014 at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Broussard was a native of Sulphur and had lived in Lake Charles since 1946. After completing his education at Marion High School, he honorably and dutifully served our country in the United States Army. He then worked with Gas Appliance and later worked for, and retired from the Louisiana State Highway Department. In his retirement, he worked as a security guard. Preceding Mr. Broussard in death are his parents, August and Idella Miller Broussard (of Creole), four brothers, one sister, several step siblings and a daughter and son-in-law, Harriet Ann and Rufus Wayne Landry. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Margie Duhon Broussard (a native of Gueydan), Lake Charles; three children Victor Broussard and wife Julie, Pleaseantville, Ohio, Deanna Marie Bordelon and husband Larry, Lake Charles, and Lisa Vincent and companion Roderick, Lake Charles; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday November 17, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue from 10:00 AM Tuesday until 12:30 PM at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday November 18, 2014 at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey Starkovich serving as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will be at Prien Memorial Gardens.
