Henry Duhon Sr., 83, passed away on August, 18, 2013. Henry worked for Firestone and retired after 33 years of service. He was past VFW State Commander, Past Commander of VFW Post 8107 in Sulphur and served his country in the US Army. During the Korean Conflict he was Personal Chef for the US Army and Commander of Army Forces in Europe. He was a life member of the American Legion, and a member of the Cajun French Music Association. Henry loved Cajun music, dancing, and always Brought Life to the Party . Henry never met a stranger and loved people. Henry is survived by his five children, Henry Duhon, Jr. of Sulphur, Amanda Ann Ferguson of Moss Bluff, Cynthia M. Thompson and husband, Keith of Sulphur, Janice R. OBlanc and husband, Clayton of Noble, La, and Theresa Duhon Pretzer of Sulphur; 9 grandchildren, Jean Ann Seneca of Plaquemine, La, Maurice L. Duhon, Scott M. Oblanc, Alex R Thompson, and Jack A. Pretzer all of Sulphur, Shane A. OBlanc and Sarah A. Ferguson of Lake Charles, Jessica D. Ferguson of Baton Rouge ,and Maximilian T.H. Ferguson of Moss Bluff; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Isabelle LeBlanc and husband, Earl of Duson, La; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Vice Duhon and parents, Savy and Amanda Duhon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Father Ernie Courville officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 9 a.m. with a rosary at 6p.m. and will resume on Wednesday at 8a.m. until time of the service.
