Henry Suydam, 65, of Ragley passed away at 11:25 AM on Monday, December 16, 2024 in a local hospital.
Mr. Suydam was born on October 21, 1959 in White Sulfur Springs, MT and was raised in Longville by his late grandparents, Estelle and James Trull. He was a graduate of South Beauregard High School. In his earlier years, he was the proud owner of a dairy farm in the Pitkin area and later became an electrician by trade. He relocated to Ragley 6 years ago to be near his family.
An avid collector, Mr. Suydam had a particular fondness for arrowheads, amassing an impressive collection that included thousands of these artifacts, some of which were rare. He had a passion for cooking, fishing, and crabbing.
Mr. Suydam is remembered for his selflessness and his infectious laughter, which led him to be the life of the party everywhere he went. He had a "bigger than life" personality.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving companion, Gina James; children, Henry Stevens, Nickie Johnson (Steven), and Trent Suydam (Hailey Proctor); brothers, Wayne Suydam (Emily) and Jeff Suydam (Cindy); grandchildren, Alyssa Sweat, Emily Johnson , Penelope Suydam, and Justin Blaine Suydam; an aunt, Barbara Fondren; and his beloved furry companion, Brick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Gary Suydam; a son, Justin Suydam; and a sister, Gayle Suydam.
Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
