Henry Thomas Worthington, 92, of Grand Lake, LA died at 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Worthington was born December 17, 1921 in Carthage, TX, lived in Lake Charles for twenty-five years and has lived in Grand Lake, LA for the past forty-one years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He retired from CITGO Refinery in 1982 after thirty-eight years of service. Following his retirement, he traveled the country with his wife in his RV for twenty-five years and was an avid dancer. Mr. Worthington is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Fern Demarets Worthington; daughter, Bonnie Chapman; son, Keith Worthington; granddaughter, Kailea Worthington; grandson, Geoffery Worthington; great-grandsons, Cameron and Christian Weber, Cailon Augustine, and Tristin and Greyson Worthington; and great-great-granddaughters, Tinley and Payson. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Worthington; and grandchildren, Daniel Chapman, Dawn Worthington, and Shea Worthington. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Dr. Jack O'Dell will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
